Make significant changes in your life

What counselling gives you

Effective counselling involves talking about your situation and concerns. It gives you a safe place where you can fully understand, come to terms with, and resolve the difficult issues in your life.

Counselling does not provide immediate or 'text-book' answers. For counselling to be effective, it’s important that you bring a willingness to change and move on.

Our approach

Our approach is collaborative, creative and set at a pace that works for you. We give you as much time as you need to talk about what is troubling you and find ways to move forward in your life. The work we do together is about helping you find the right solutions for you.

For counselling to work, there needs to be honesty and trust in our working relationship. So we can both fully understand what you are experiencing and how you wish to move on. We bring a depth of experience to our counselling sessions that supports long-term and short-term face-to-face counselling, as well as telephone counselling.

Counselling sessions take place in the beautiful rural setting of Longview in Wiltshire and are delivered by Dr Elspeth Schwenk who is a senior, registered, and accredited counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

How we can help

We help adults and couples dealing with a wide variety of problems. Including anxiety, bereavement and loss, depression, post-traumatic stress, cultural and work related issues, coping with life transitions, relationships and family dynamics.

Our counselling involves working creatively and with a range of therapies including systemic family therapy, person centred and solution focused brief therapy. Occasionally we might take the work outside and do some nature-based therapy or therapeutic gardening.
